In this old food house, the traditional Basque cooking that inspires the present spirit of Bodegón Alejandro was cooked. The first aspirations of Martín Berasategui were developed in this restaurant. From the subsoil of the Fermín Calbetón street, Bodegón has witnessed the gastronomic evolution of San Sebastian during the last fifty years. The old photographs on the walls transmit an intense aroma of the times when food was eaten to fill the stomach instead of to surprise the palate.

Nowadays, Bodegón Alejandro has adapted its image to modern times without losing its old charm. It pays homage to that charm through the dishes inspired in the traditional Basque cooking, but which look to the future and aspire to be universal.

When you come to visit us, take into account that the dishes in the menu have contributed to build the prestige of Basque cooking and to establish the base camp from which Martín Berasategui started to attack other summits, explore unknown territories, look for new ways of expression of a culinary talent whose roots are strongly tied to our restaurant, below the streets of the Old Part of San Sebastian.
